Jimmyspa

About 3 weeks ago I went to one of the bookstores here in Taoyuan hoping to find a book I was in huge need. I knew it wouldn't be an easy task, I mean, finding a technical book in English in the town I live. Although a simple trip to Taipei would solve my problem, I decided not to go there and try here anyway.

What a wonderful surprise the day was reserving to me!
Every mall here in Taiwan has a bookstore where a very good selection of books, magazines CDs and DVDs and stationary. They are very organized and also they have a very good atmosphere what makes me forget that I need to go home. In Taipei there is even a 24 hours bookstore, what is really a dream.

The Eslite bookstore is amazing. It's really a place to forget about all troubles, and fevers, and homesicking and so on. In Taipei there are 2 huge Eslite that take my breath away, especially the new one that is opened until 3AM daily and has 7 floors. There, there is a wonderful collection of English books and magazines that...oh God!

I got to excited about it, that I'm going far from the main topic of this post!

So, since I moved to here I'm enchanted by the graphic design of the children books. I spend hours looking at them as well done they are. The drawings have a smooth and polish finish that usually is used only in mangas, Japanese comic books.

As soon as I entered at Eslite here in Taoyuan, I noticed an island of children's books and I got instantaneitly fascinated by the colors and mainly by the thematic of the books. The design was soft but strong at the same time. The colors were deep and light and the pages were alive, they really had life on their own.

It was a love at the first sign for sure. I kept looking at those wonderful drawings and then my eyes reached what I could call my own self-portrait. Suddenly there I was hugging the book and feeling a mix of very good feelings that I’m not able to explain. The drawing I’m talking about is the 1st one I posted below, and it reminds me of my childhood and my teenager years. Years that I spent alone in a library of my town. Oh, what a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by books!

It’s beautiful when art touches a soul as the works by Jimmyspa did to me. I just love all this Taiwanese artist does! His solitary girl just got me!

I got all books from him I saw in the bookstore! I just couldn't resist...

Savor some of his poetic and charming work!

I never saw a portrait as perfect as this one for me!

One Window, Two Views

Drawing by Que Sera Sera
Photography by me

It amazed me how wonderful the “bloggephere” is. My blogger friend Que Sera Sera made a re-reading of a photo I took in France and that she saw at Flickr, using black graphite on paper and I would like to share it!

It’s a very nice work and it has inspiring me very much! Seeing a second look at my previous look change the whole perspective of it. It always fascinates me how we look at an object and how the same object looks at us.
A window itself already has an open eye meaning, where we can see and being seen. In a way or another, we use our blogs as a window of our lives, our souls and it is our way to see each other and to let the others see each of us!

Thank you so much dear, from the bottom of my heart! It lighted my day
